Love moves like the sea in changeable moods
soft, gentle, and slow, to immense tidal waves
always licking at sand in extreme thirsty mode
then withdrawing again away from the feel
of passion descending down onto the earth.

How conscious the sand of sea’s restlessness
and abiding dreams of perceived perfection
there long ago but untested, untried,
amidst the voracity of life’s many wiles.

The sea and sea-shore part hands at dawn
and slowly the days turn into years,
one seeking, one knowing, in separate abodes
restraining within the wishes of soul.

Stars in the sky more than sea-sand combined
twinkle and glitter, flicker eyelashes, needs,
till the sea rises up, overthrows love,
and crashes right down into fantasy land.

Such is the story of sea’s waywardness
seeking so in the sky escape and denial
but remember, remember, life’s sorry plight
when the sea fantasized and romanticized?

Misplaced is the sea when it cannot believe
but the sand simply settles more so at ease
for the sea like love can’t sift and remove
each grain of recall from every wave!

Bunches of Honey, I do so enjoy your poems where you write metaphorically using nature themes. ~ Graceful, vivid, touching, creative ~ and memorable.

You don't just write like a poet, you have the soul and heart of a poet.

Hugs with love and admiration for your talent,
Linda

Linda - Thank you so much for your gracious and supportive comment so very much appreciated by me.  Nature is life - we cannot be separated or distanced from it though some trees I like and some I dislike.
