Recognition

Recognition beats a drum
That’s dried me to a prune once plum
And buttered pathways that I stroll
Brought fermentation of my soul

I looked for me a touch a feel
Followed ghosts that had appeal
That lined the byways of my path
Illusions washed me in its bath

And now I write upon this page
With wrinkled hand and touched with age
No longer use, illusions spice
My youth is gone I paid the price

I stubbed my toe upon this stone
Yet now I offer up my bone
For just the slightest smallest taste
To know it all was not a waste

Forgive me for being lost for
It’s more than I that paid the cost

Oh, Mr. T., ye may not be as plump a plum as ye once were ~ but ye be not a prune.

Ye hath aged into the finest of fine plum wines.

I gratefully sip thy silken words of poetry each blessed morning.  They be as pleasing to the pallate as ye be!

For what it's worth, I don't think it's all a waste.

no moment is ever wasted
if lived by what is true,
and a heart such as yours
put on these pages blue
is always treasured, just like pay
and will be cherished each and every day

Your wrinkled hands chisel such precious gifts every day in sweet harmony with your heart ...

No, there is no waste of time in your life, you share so generously your beauty and your wisdom, dear Seymour! May it come back to you thousandfold.

Thank you!

Love and hugs.

JM,
You touch me every time I see your name and even when I don't.
WW

suthern,
You sure it wasn't you pushing those leaves across my face. LOL

Margherita,
No it's I that thank you.
