rivers don't sleep
and life is...
what it is

moving forward is the way

the spirit that follows
the way
is content
with life
as it is

that's cause they wanna be OCEANS.

(and lookit at YOU, looking like one of my favorite actresses--Kyra Sedgewick!!!)

I am a bit like a river too, I guess. I even slow down a bit at noon, and tend to contribute to thunderstorms.

Love ya Kace. Great poem, great pic.

Smiling a big thank you, lady Greeneyes. Thanks for your reply.

Karen, like Kyra? an actress? oh my, you get an extra kiss for that, since she is almost 20 years younger than me LOL
yep, have to admit, I DO want to be as dynamic as the great Pacific! LOL, though I am a mere gentle tributary stream.
YOU, on the other hand, ARE always
...a mighty ocean.

Kacy....This is an inspiring poem...

"rivers don't sleep
and life is...
what it is"

Though life rests
at times, in places deep
Slow eddies-black water-
back bays, building power

Up ahead, always are
White rapids and treachery,

But up ahead is always what it seeks!
as

"moving forward is its way"

Relentless to conjoin forms, changing
Only the spirit knows the whys of our questions...

"The spirit that follows"

(knows) "the way"

But unlike mankind, the river

"is (always) content
with life
as it is"

and always keeps secret, the reason it's taken away...

Thank you

thanks for such a sweet reply, Craig

Ford, your beautifully aware muse follows you upstream, downstream, over all the boulders and waterfalls. And you read the waters well.

Nice and easy does it! Where you go, your spirit will follow. Keep on paddling! Steady as she goes!

Keep it simple and go with the flow! So mote it be!

Very captivating, I so love to watch a river flow!

You have touched upon the essence of life ... moving on.

Very beautifully done!

My son took a beautiful picture of the Tiber on Sunday and I was inspired too to write a poem. Will post it soon.

Love, Margherita

the beginning of another poem for yourself...

tributary stream...

go ahead, take the challenge...

It helps to remember that the river always flows, over rocks, over sand, over whatever is in it's way. It manages, fast and sometimes slow, steady and sometimes rough. It may seem the easier path to always be content, when inside you feel the rush of a wild river.  I strive for that perfection. Thank you for this, martyjo

Thank you for your reply, Margherita. I look forward to reading your new one.
Karilea? LOL, OK, maybe there will be a Pacific sequel.
Martyjo, thanks! I enjoyed your thoughtful reply.
