The willow weeps her tear leaves into the glistening silver pool that stands there just beyond her roots which are planted deep in this soil of her belonging she sees her wind songs reflected as the breeze stirs her branches and moves her longing speaking words to her of other worlds that lay within the silvered waters what temptations were whispered by this silver pool of promises with his sky eye shimmers that beseeched her attention and spoke of depths to be fathomed She reached forth and touched the pool its waters warm and welcoming touched by an amber sun yet shaded in the shadows and the ripples can be felt as of yet But the bank held her firmly in the soil of her beginnings and she knew she was a tree that dreamt of being a fish and dreams can only be dreams So she shed her leaf tears to ripple within the pool of wishes for if wishes were fishes . . . but she, she was a willow of standing and she let her roots sink deeper into the soil of her belonging s.a.t. If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . . |

I could picture this so easily, a very beautiful fantasy with deep meaning. When we are true to ourselves, we are stronger. But dreaming is necessary to savour fully life. Love, Margherita |

Susan, I can't tell you the memories this poem brings up for me, and here is what I envisioned. This tree holds so many years of memories, and see how she reaches? I bet she does think she's a fish too! A lesson learned to reach for the stars? What an incredible image you penned here and in my mind. This made my day! ~* C'est la vie *~ |

Susan and Mysteria, together you have made my day. What fond memories I have of the Willow and our yard where we brought up six children. I stuck a small branch down by the stream and it seemed no time before I was taking pictures of them all sitting in the large branches of the Willow. Thanks for this. martyjo |
