The Bringer of Dawn by Rassouli

* * *

The Bringer of Dawn

* * *

In the silent embrace of dormant streets

I move in big strides of playful lightness.

Amazed at my effortless speed and grace

I absorb the whispers of familiar walls

while the fresh breeze caresses my face.

I am on friendly ground in my hometown

and I know here I can find what I seek.

The roots tracing me back to the Source

are anchored between these stones.

I can connect with Heaven in this spot,

the sparkling stars perform magical rites

and mysteries unveil during the night.

On this blessed soil I am complete

I am the mother, the daughter, the child.

And I am also the Bringer of Dawn.

Darkness calls me with a silent sigh,

I have no fear for I know the Light.

Upon the hill surrounded by trees

I lift my arms in a revered reach,

my heart opens wide in deepest praise.

Behind me the nightly sky recedes

in sweet surrender to the rising sun.

I am the Bringer of Dawn.

Then I watch the quiet world emerge

into the golden embrace of the day.

I have this sweet secret bond of love

that ties my heart and soul to God.

In this place where I was born,

I come to dance with the Angels.

They open my eyes to the wonder

of this Earth and of Universe.

They let me share in Creation.

That’s why in this divine dream

in union with the spirit of Home

I am the Bringer of Dawn.

I am not amazed...you always seem this way...effortless speed and grace...yes, that's how  you are!  This was beautiful!
