He stared in wonder as a child,
At butterflies and midnight skies,
A man-boy not by life defiled,
Knew only truth, knew not of lies.
No hint of sin within his soul,
This creature meek, this creature fair,
From forth the heavens he was stole,
Soft glow of hope amongst despair.
Was only peace this man-boy knew,
With innocence of cherub's face,
He blessed us all, and then he flew,
On angel’s wings, his simple grace.
Returning to from whence he came,
To heaven’s high, he now resides,
God’s special gift, Chuck was his name.

My Aunt and Uncle were told my cousin would not live to the age of six.  He made it to 53.  They had to bring extra chairs into the sanctuary at the church today because of the overflow crowd.  Chuck touched a lot of lives including one fairly cynical 52 year old.

Tim,

I firmly believe we all have a purpose.  People like your Chuck have the most wonderful purpose of all...

To remind us about pure unadultered love, honesty, and beauty. Beauty of self, surroundings and others.

How lucky you to not only have known him but also to have appreciated his gifts.
