The dark hides all the shadows, Blended and bent from sight, Waiting for an angry tomorrow At the end of disappointing night. I need not hide from anyone For no one wants to find me And though my sight is know to some, None are near that wish to see. A far off shot is an echoing sound, Perhaps somewhere blood spills If death was looking, one was found, Or maybe it hit an old windowsill Cracking the glass that lets night seep A promise of next time terror For an old woman that tries to sleep Frightened by her own bedroom mirror. I round a corner to find some light A refuge for the too frightened crowd That don't understand the dark of night, Then another shot too close and loud. They fear And know not death's face, They're scared But are trapped in this place, A child woman cries with blurred eyes The wino in the alley takes another sip Is there order midst the choas? I glance about then slip Silently as the rats back to shadow, Then deeper away from the light Thoughtless of yesterday or tomorrow Existence is a moment in the night; Darkness that death cleans For some, for none or for any Till sunrise beams And all is lost memory. it is fear which works its noise like a vampire sucking out all strengh but it is when we realize, not to fear that the mist clears...and becomes light and the darkness is forgotten.... Oh what a write...extremely well done... ![]() |
