Above my head there’s only sky blue like a woman’s eyes looking at and through me till naked I’m reduced to a paper cut-out doll placed so and then just so on this landscape, mother earth. And sky is whimsical and sly no mountain is too high or river deep and fearsome for his creation to survive though pasted in between paper fronts and rear end tags there’s a heart and a mind begging for release. Rises up the wind and symbols fall down flat there to lie in humbled pose till lifted to new heights by the blue, so very blue, sky of my delight. It happens thus sometimes when forced to realize there is a someone somewhere breathing far too heavily over paper cut-out dolls on “let’s pretend” landscapes. And so I cry sometimes when dirt gets in my eyes but that’s the way it goes up and down, up and down, until the sky of my delight bids me again adieu! Helen / 17 May 2005 |
