There is joy...
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+
There is joy in spotting first robin of spring,
There is joy in hearing a meadowlark sing.

There is joy in seeing the sun rise in the morn,
There is joy in beholding a babe as it's born.

There is joy in lying in a meadow of clover,
There is joy in the warm kiss of sunshine all over.

There is joy in loving and being loved in return,
There is joy in receiving for what one does yearn.

There is joy in the blooming of flowers in May,
There is joy in accepting what might come your way.

There is joy in knowing that you are doing your best,
There is joy in living with passion and zest.

There is joy when a child holds on to your hand,
There is joy in building tall castles in sand.

There is joy in snuggling on a cold winter’s night,
There is joy in doing what you know is right.

There is joy in the company of family and friends,
There is joy in accepting what lies around bends.

There is joy in the beauty of Nature’s surround,
There is joy in the blessings that Our Father rains down.

There is joy in the sharing of each heart and soul,
There is joy in the chiming as church bells toll.

There is joy in the changing of every season,
There is joy in living with heart, soul and reason.

There is joy in the going as river is flowing,
There is joy in trusting your faith and your knowing.

There is joy in the viewing of a bright, rainbowed sky.
There is joy in watching a hawk circling high.

There is joy to be had. Open eyes and you’ll see.
There is an abundance of joy all around you and me.

There is joy to hear words from blue pages,
There is joy from these words they'll live for ages.

There is joy when penned from EA here,
There is joy because they are sincere.

There is joy that is brought from the heaven's above,
There is joy to live what EA writes of.

There is joy
when I see your smile.

I can feel it, you know?

Right through the screen.
It just grabs hold of my hand
and brushes my hair
and makes me feel sleepy . . .

Dixie, I do believe your shadows are passing. Perhaps a bit too slow for your liking, but they are passing. Then you will burst into bloom and begin a new and glorious life. You will be free to be you! ~ and you is one fine chick, Dixie!

It was wonderful having you be a part of this post!

There is joy when Dear Dixie pays a visit to me!
She's a spirit set loose and now will fly free!

My....I am at a loss for words!!  Your words and the responses were all incredible, Linda!  As I read your words...so much of it reminded me of some thing I tried to write years ago, but I was really bad at writing back then (still learning even now)- so I threw it by the wayside.
I have been going through a pretty bad dry spell lately...and I am praying that it passes soon.  Cause I would love to come back here and contribute.   Adding it to the library...so I can one of these days!!
Take care and God bless, dear Earth Angel!!   ...Becka

Joy to me is all I see
With eyes that open wide.
Joy to me is all I smell
When I simply step outside.
Joy to me is all I taste
Thankful of no drought.
Joy to me is hearing a child
My favorite joy no doubt.

I’m filled with joy each day I wake
Carpe’ Diem is the motto I take.

Becka ~

You exude love and charm and honesty and openess and beauty! You truly do. Your spirit is so full of Light that it shines all the way up here to cloud 9!

I, too, have written poems that just weren't working at the time I first set pen to paper. When I revisit them some time later, and with clear eye and fresh ink, I have often been surprised at how well I was able to bring them to life! I suggest you revisit some of those treasures in the making!

To me, there is no such thing as "bad" poetry. Even if a poem is having some technical difficulty, so to speak, there is something to be gained from reading it! Writing from your soul, your mind, and your heart is what is important ~ and you, my friend, have no shortage of that!

There is joy in the beaming of Becka's smile
To share her love, she'll walk many a mile.

from 8-28-03

The door to music
breeze touches the tops of trees
to hear is a joy

Dragonfly in air
dip and turn above the pool
messenger of love

Next a butterfly
wings like red hair without dye
same as dragonfly

In the summer sky
messages beneath the sun
listening with heart

There is joy in life

when we watch the world in awe

seeing perfection

There is joy in life

for the river of deep love

flowing from Above

... dear Linda you have said it all and so very beautifully! I will keep this, in case I need a reminder ...

(does happy dance) Yay! I'm going to be plagiarizing my inner-muse Emmanuel Endorphin here, LOL, but here goes:

"There is joy in every smile on a girl scout's face,
every time you buy a box of their iced berry pinatas with that sugar-sweet glaze.

There is joy every time you give their cookies a nip,
then, before you know it, you'll be doin' the Thin Mint Flit!

(smiles) Yay, I could go on all day adding to this wonderful thread, but one thing I do know is that there are endless possibilities and ways to be joyous everyday, yay, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautifl heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Your inner-muse always amuses!

Noah, you are the personification of joy! You write gloriously joyful poems and you are one who truly sees and appreciates the joy to be had in even the most seemingly insignificant things and events!

Loving you,
