While The Rocks Grow

waiting while the rocks grow
and the glacier of time
melts breath by breath
waiting a timeless time
the scent of miles and hours
heart scald of forced distance
touch me, touch me present
touch me with the now
to hold the waiting
hold the miles hold all
but your skin light,
light me with your skin
the light of it until
there is not time, there
are not miles, here
I am and you and now
burns the flame in us
from us through us
and there is no waiting

This is beautiful writing with lovely thoughts woven into the words so delicately.
Well done!

Jamie

I have done some writing about waiting...and time.  It seems most of life is either waiting or remembering, and that small moment of now is gone so quickly.  Sometimes time is a friend, but usually I find it works against me.  It's fun to think about though, isn't it?  Thanks for the thoughts in this.

~ these lines especially rock for me!

There is an insistence to this poem, a burn for the passion of touch and time found within the folds of repetition.  Enjoyed this write.

and, if I didn't forget to check the box again?  (Oh, I'd forget my head if it were't attached by a rubber band!)

Thanks, James for this wonderful piece.

I tried to pick out favorite lines... but the truth is... I love them all. *S* You've captured perfectly the need for "now"... for whatever can be gleaned between anticipation and memories... when waiting and remembering are such time gluttons. *S* Beautiful work!

I saw no weight in this at all...
