Never close enough

A story told through woven words
another woman in despair
pain mingled with happiness
and only memories linger there.

I've never met her face to face
I only know her through her pen
The one that puts her life on the paper
as she empties herself again

The words weave in and out
painting her story for me
each stroke of ink or tear that falls
another painful scar - set free

The weather of her life
the clouds, the rain, the sun
it takes a life of its own
until the story before her is done

As a woman I do understand
her need to write it out
the need to cast the demons
when its already to noisy to shout

Just when I'm sure I can't go on
her words reach down deep inside
and if only for a moment
I feel my own despair - subside

It seems if though I'm mirrored there
within the words she makes
whatever writers are born of
she surely has what it takes

I'm certain I'm not the only one
that finds treasure in her thoughts
she continues to lighten the load
even when she's distraught

I'm glad I had the chance to know
a woman writer such as her
I'm sure it must be a struggle within
To write about life - when it hurts

So, thank you sweet Serenity
for giving me inner peace
Through your muse, pen and soul
and own personal release.

I may hate myself in the morning - but I'm gonna love you tonight

A beautiful and heartfelt write for our most deserving Serenity.
Yes..she is a wonderful writer with a grace and style all her own.
Bless you for gifting her with this perfect write.
I'm sure it's one she will treasure.

IWIHWT ~ I wish I had written that! ~ for I totally concur with what you have written in this tribute poem to our Serene One. In fact, a couple of years ago I wrote and posted one as well!

You expressed your sentiments very poetically!

Hugs to you both,

Linda

all of a sudden I feel so bashful...

I have been ill and sleeping forever and half of today and here I wake to find this.

You all move me, incredibly.
