Personal Effects

As I gather the things I have here of yours
Things you asked me to keep safe for you
I came across a few things
Not things I had forgotten about
They are things dear to my heart
The one that brought the fondest memory
Was something you left here a while back
A card with your perfume on it
A card with your words on it that read

“save a little space
just for my embrace”

Let me re-assure you
There will always be a little space in my heart for you
We started out as friends
Friends we will be till the end

Especially liked the warmth in this piece.
Too soon to let it go.
