Equinox In My Heels
(Part of: "Emmanuel Endorphin’s Serotonin Sundae")
By: Noah Eaton
5/11/05

Tra la la la la la,
tra la la la la la,
tra la la la la la,
tra la la la la la...

Cock-a-doodle doo, top of the morning to you,
the moment the sun kisses my face, I leap out of bed like Captain Kangaroo,
you wanna walk with me, you can be Tom Terrific,
if I keep it in stride, I might pick up that green jean endorsement.
Hey, I like your style, Mighty Manfred, diggin’ those Poll Parrots,
75 and sunny’s just the ticket to carmelize Crabby Appleton,
now out the front door I pogo onomatopoeia like Gerald McBoingBoing,
this sugar sweet symphony that makes up the fruit of my loins.

Now I shall click my heels three times,
pit-a-pat, rat-a-tat tat down to the county line,
all truly great thoughts are conceived by walkin’,
so today I’ll just let my legs do all the talkin’,
what the heck, let’s take the long way home,
imagine all the people I’ll meet, all the places I’ll roam,
I’ve got a vernal equinox beaming in my heels,
dancin’ away my handfasting ceremony spiel!

Tra la la la la la,
tra la la la la la,
(I wanna hear you singin' now!)
Tra la la la la la,
tra la la la la la...

You know I’m a sucker for children, I love ‘em a bunch,
in the schoolyard they watch me break-dance and kip that double dutch,
blue bells, taco shells, Evvie ivy over, I like coffee,
I like tea, I like boys and the boys like me!
Yes, no, maybe so, you know I like strawberry shortcake, I like blueberry pie,
and I’m happy to announce I believe I’m a lucky guy,
whoa, look at me already losing myself in all this excitement,
and I didn’t even get my fingers on any chocolate!
I’ll be candid with you, I don’t pay the toll at the booth,
it ain’t because I’m aloof, I just love walking with the tune,
feels like I have an honorary degree from Kay Kyser's College of Musical Knowledge,
and best yet, it spares me from the elbow grease and nail polish,
cuz my heels are on extended vacation, prismatic in liquid animation,
I feel an uncanny sense of liberation in that I have no particular destination,
I just walk by and blow a kiss for the camera like Bettie Page,
Like a chanticleer I engineer my vocals and play away...

Now I shall click my heels three times,
pit-a-pat, rat-a-tat tat down to the county line,
all truly great thoughts are conceived by walkin’,
so today I’ll just let my legs do all the talkin’,
what the heck, let’s take the long way home,
imagine all the people I’ll meet, all the places I’ll roam,
I’ve got a vernal equinox beaming in my heels,
dancin’ away my handfasting ceremony spiel,
skip to your lou now!

In the bright sun I’m baskin’ like a California raisin,
"Put both feet on the ground" is my raison d’etre,
my feet are making language, I’ve got the shimmies of a penguin,
look at this endurance, behold this fascination,
still fresh and hip like She-ra Princess of Power and Swift Wind,
and I stop just for a minute for a sip of Yin Hao Jasmine,
fraggle rockin’ the crosswalks, no need to check my swatch watch,
the sun’s my cosmic compass, watching me play hop-skotch,
"May is a pious fraud of the almanac", there’s no doubling back,
april’s a promise May always keeps which all the other months adapt,
I’m their lord of the dance, with loads of serotonin in my happy dance grab bag,
try some, and watch your mind fly like a bird while your body advances!
meandering leads to perfection, my how it fosters those endorphins,
lovers, listen to your doctors Left and Right, the love in life is made by walkin’.

Tra la la la la la,
la la la,
This love's fulfillng, isn’t it lil’ fashion star fillie?
Tra la la la la la,
la la la,
When life gives you a playful wink, do you get tickled pink?
Tra la la la la la,
la la la,
Was it my inner-child, or the way I rhyme that made you smile?
Tra la la la la la,
la la la,
All the mass appeal is in the equinox in your heels,

La la la...

Well, bless your sweet solstice soul! I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful read as I skipped-dee-doo-dahed my way through this feast for the inner child!

~ Rich in verbiage, visuals ~ and spirit!

There are more facets to you and your writing than there are facets on a finely cut diamond! ~ and each one of them is impressive!

Have a glorious day, Angel Boy!

Muchos huggos,
Linda

big smiles and hugs...would love to hear you sing this one...it's always so good to see your songs of vibrancy and giving...and a great big good morning to you, as well...thank you for this giving.
