Sitting silently as roses entwine
all alone
wrapped around the arbor in your secret garden
breathing in the ache
that spills like a waterfall from the rush of your sobs
bursting at the end
of every write you ever wrote.

I wish you all the beauty in springs winding ways
and pray for a rainbow
that will carry you over to the other side of the sun
and for every heart that breaks
and every heart on the mend
I wish you love.

Because you see
I watched you while I pined
but it wasn't my place to say
you might never be the same
if I had only known.

For when we fall out
we simply fall like the stars
short of our desire
and I feel for you and loves illusions
that cost you
and for his loss that never was
or ever will be.

I just hate to see anyone hurting,
and wish I could take the pain away.
