i feel, night touching my breast dancing amongst the forest intrusive churchyard whistles greedy for unknown words, holding the familiar when moon is lost, to what will come, carefree remnants of rustic dreams, sipping mint juleps no “thing” is mine, owning only images, caught in cross hairs of some privet spiritual universe charge card escapes & midnight specials walking along the fence lines of a childhood alternating energy, like realism hard-edged like an invasion of winter’s leaf dance, articulate, distinctive immigrates to my psyche, venue of life appearances writing my own rumors, nestled little particles featured and open, like a race for the cure as the big guy looks down, humored by deadlines and men with ghosts of clear vision gives reason to stop by & browse the Getty museum mankind leaves music, by the years, down the road inward entreaties cherished, a feeling sacrifice knows haunted and unsettled, like an unmade bed, blood spills skips and grins, to a place of yesterday’s hills calling back a force of magic, between the hours, where we leave notes, by the way side, given by our grandfathers eyes closed lightly, with relaxing fists on knees is the messy hair of blindness, what no body believes? are veins left on the table for another to perceive? like coloring the day with some ageless altered ego & high pitched alliance write a 2nd mortgage on this cosmic town we’re all friendly dogs...scared of the touchdown lost in some paradox of absurdities say, the normal handpicked crazies i say, what is normal to each? i live intimately with a gangland of emotions shedding the mask of pretense and you, what say we pay cash with our lives? Bury ourselves deep within the core of walking the walk, within summer's eyes? our poetry, doesn’t need extras nodding what it needs, is a boulevard of prosperity “the labyrinth of heart” rendering what the owner owns, is the space where he/she strolls while night thyme touches your breast in some deep calculated complex |

Good morning, Lee! Oh, I now see that it is afternoon where I live! Each illustrious line can stand on its own merit. By you increasing the spaces between the lines, perfectly showcased each one of them. Have a glorious day! Linda |

"no “thing” is mine, owning only images" My feelings are that the entire poem is grounded in this statement.... I always look for the key phrase, this one has a great one.... As always, even if your theme is dark, I enjoy reading you... ------------ice/ford ><> |

Funny how such simple little words can say so much...that's why I'm fast becoming a big fan of yours. One never knows what little phrase might strike someone in a strong way - for me it was "charge card escapes". That just brings back memories of time when escape or change was vital and, even though broke and without the proverbial pit to hiss in, the credit card comes out and the deed is done, as if the money was not even real or, even if it was, the payback would be worth it all, just to get away. Three simple little words strung together that say a lot and I would have never thought to say it in that way...thus my admiration. Don't listen to what anybody else says...you're GOOD! |
