Softly Can You Speak |

How softly can you speak the words, That spread within my blood like mercury? As the chattering of white ceases And I swallow the fear whole, still pounding Could you think yourself so small a figment, As to discount the impact of each syllable? A neutron blast to level empires and return the light of creation Yet I would rather face the fact that what we feel is different Than to pretend that what I feel is nothing For you are more More than sun or rain Far more than simply flesh upon bone, upon lust How softly can you speak the words… Of love? Let me see........hankie over mouth... softly muttering..."testing, one two...." Nope....can't do it... Seriously Kiddo, passion flows heavily from this poem. A hearty well done to ya for it. |

I do not know how softly he can speak of love, but you sure as heck can speak in a full and passionate voice! This was a well-articulated piece of writing, TD! EA |

"Yet I would rather face the fact that what we feel is different Than to pretend that what I feel is nothing" You formed the words that I was at a loss to find... perfection. "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

Your writing is just as lovely as ever, Kathleen. Love is another four letter word, and I'm much too jaded these days. |
