Don't listen to them.
Your dreams can come true.
Not just some of them;
every single one of them.
Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
Just adjust your definition of a dream.
You already have the perfect lover.
Don't let pop culture tell you otherwise.
Just adjust your definition of perfection.
Give her just the right flaws in all the right places,
all the right features and all the wrong faces.
Beware that you are both a witch and a magician,
and that you may have to reinvent "perfection."
But no one else need know, just you.
And give to her
all the moods and colors you imagine.
Give to her freckles,
unsightly blemishes and crooked teeth.
Give her lips that have not yet lost their passion,
despite all the hammer-blows of life.
(Remember that if you don't like them
you can always change them on a whim.)
And give to her the indignation and the anger
of a million claps of thunder.
Give her a character, a form,
that can endure, even prevail
against the storms of life.
Give her the carriage, the gate,
the bearing, the body of your own desire.
Give her a voice that can cut
through decades of pain and cynicism,
a song that can break, tenderize and even melt
the stiffest heart.
Give her magic intuition,
laser vision
that can look deep inside another soul.
Imagine that, wherever you go,
she comes with you;
and wherever you are, she is there.
lives within you and beside you
for as long as you live.
Again, never forget
that if you don't like any of them,
you can always tell them
it was just a dream.
And you can live in a perfect world.
Not some pathologically escapist box,
but the vast world of your imagination.
In your mind
you color, populate, create
the objects and the personalities
of your dreams.
The world of your imaginings
is, in reality,
the only world there is.
And the visions of your inner world,
will manifest themselves in outer life.
It is thus that you and I
are constant co-creators
of the universe we live in.
Remember that, of course,
if we don't like something ... ... ... ... ...
