May The Eighth

Back in Nineteen forty-five
Known to all as VE Day
A special Time for the World
Toward a Peaceful Way.

A Day for Senior Citizens
Once they have turned that page
To Celebrate what many
Will find a coming of Age.

Then there is Mother’s Day
That’s not a Happy one
Except for Her Memory
Left when Her Life was done.

And too, the Day I was Born
Oh, so many years ago
Wonder, like the Hours Today
Where did all of that Time go?
