He found her in his eye He found her in his eye on a summer day, Sitting on the bench with a book in hand. Not really reading as she was waiting, Waiting for her ice cream cone to be made. He thought about one himself, But knew she would disappear as he waited. Convinced that this may be the only time to meet her, He shook himself silly to gather the nerves to approach her. What must have that looked liked to the onlooker, Very embarrassing as he knew no other way. “Excuse me,” as he bumped into an older lady passing. He thought he had tunnel vision, He thought her pretty long hair was wrapped around his hand Pulling him in to get a glimpse of her eyes. He wanted those eyes to see him, To know him and his thoughts of her. As she got up to get her ice cream, He got excited and began to walk her way. “Here you go,” the ice cream man said. The boy snatched the ice cream cone and began to run, With her yelling behind, “hey that’s mine, give it back!” Snapping out of a daydream The boy looked up at the eyes he was kissing. She still makes him feel the same, As when he first introduced himself to her on that summer day. |

What a lovely and romantic poem. I could see it all happening before my own eyes. And may they continue to make wonderful memories. ![]() EA |
