Mismatched Moments – A Mother’s Day Knowing.

A collection of mismatch colors,
still, all needed that treasured touch
so she opened doors for me,
and clearly gazed within

"One for you, one for me…"

smallish cups she chose for us
the talk, we knew, would be fine
as china
clear as glass, and she would see
all that she really means to me…

"Will you pour into mismatch?"

Her voice so cherished,
for neither did the teapot belong
anywhere other than with our songs

of life, and loves, and troubles, too…
the teapot held our sisters’ brew
and as we sat with pinkied airs
we tumbled down long ago roads
as we let down our hair
and shared some words that went without
a sound…

Sisters do know…without or with the brew
of just how much silence holds
and over distance, too.

~*~

To my PiP Sisters…Happy Mother’s Day.

Thank you, all.  The teacups have been a collection over time - my mother collected teapots...it seemed the "natural" thing to do.

As for the clear crystal you see?  That is a gift from my mother-in-love, and her Fostoria "Baroque" collection from her wedding in 1941.

A set of 12, over time, there is only one coffee cup missing.

She took very good care of her possessions, and still does, today, at the age of 96.5 years.

Please, all, have a wonderful, warm, loving Mothers Day.
