Unbridled

Promises are somehow magically made
when flesh breathlessly slides on flesh
and hushed whispers are the only sounds heard –
promises often disavowed
as the devilish voice of unleashed passion
supplanting one’s saner self.

I inhaled the essence of all you said,
turned loose the inner me in unbridled response
