~*~

Wading through the highest tides
diving beneath ten foot waves that would break
weathering a thousand storms
in spite of so many passing's,
you kept a watchful eye
and I never lost sight of your ship.

Finally, we're getting closer
somewhere between here and now,
not so faraway.

I read you like a map
over and over
trying to comprehend our course
as I feel my way through dense fog.
Breathing in the mist of another place and time,
I forgot to remember.

I cry freely that I lost my way so easily
rubbing salt in my wounds
pressing wet on your lips.
Oh, surrender me to the wind
and this endless journey we're on.

I will tow the line forever
if it leads back to you
and I will never let go
and I won't ever stop believing
that love will find a way
if you'll have me.

As sure as the sun rises
warm and willing
you're all that I need
and I'm weary of dreaming.
For the sky is clearing
and the sea is not bluer
on the other side of a swoon.

So hard to pick lines....but I pick these, because I do so wish they'd come to me!

I will tow the line forever
if it leads back to you

Steadfast...that's the way. You are a jewel, Lori...a ruby set in these blue pages.

Ed~  Thank you for always being so nice, and for believing in me.
(even if I am cantankerous)  Your kindness means a lot.

Maree~  Yea, a swoon is just a swoon,  when in fact,
the colors were the truest blue all along.  (I just didn't see it)
You're sweet, thank you so much.

Martie~  I'm not big on sinking or swimming, I want to stay right here forever.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read and reply to me.
Thank you always.

~ My picking out the above lines is in a way, doing the other lines an injustice! Lori, this may be one of my personal favourites of your poems that I have had the pleasure of reading. This is truly a remarkle example of remarkable you!

Your blondness, who me?  Not really a plea so much as the way it is.
Thank you Michele.

Janet Marie~  Gawd,   I have no style, my sleeve just happens to fall
close to my heart, and I want more than anything to do right by it.
Thank you.

Thank you for stopping by, Dixie~

Dark Stranger~  Well, I can't undo the past, it is like the clouds
parting ways, then turn down the edges so softly.
It's a reminder that nothing stays the same, for better or for worse.
Thanks for taking the time for me.

Hi Linda~  I'm glad you liked that verse.  It's  true,
sometimes I forget to remember what is most important.
Thank you for your support and kind words.

Nancy~  Thank you for sharing your heart here.
Smiling back at you!!

Susan C~  What a nice surprise,  I am so pleased that the meaning wasn't lost.
Thank you very much for the visit,  it means a lot.

Bluesy,
As always, I enjoy your writing and the journey you where you take me.  Wish romance didn't seem like the forever-imbalancing-scale!  If for more than a moment, we can achieve that perfect balance between two people...  Good luck to you, Bluesy.

   "For the sky is clearing
and the sea is not bluer
on the other side of a swoon."

Loving this!  Me thinks you're being pretty clever with word play.  (I can hear the melody of Blue Moon approaching!)

James~  Thanks a bunch, from one hopeless romantic to another.

Misce~ Living for the moment is easier said than done, but then again, those are the moments we live for!  How's that for word play?  Your replies are so sweet and I can't thank you enough for sharing your sweet soul with me.

Ah, Raph~  Thanks for the beautiful....you!!
That was awful nice of you to say so.
