I need your hand in my hand
Beneath the stars  tonight
Wishing you were with me
In the new moonlight
But I'm left in this condition
Cause fate will have it's way
And you had to leave me
Alone on Plymouth Bay

A distant voice has called you
Somewhere beyond our home
Some ancient trick of fortune
Returned to take your soul
And in my scarred acceptance
With a heart so full of pain
Tonight I really need you
Right here on Plymouth Bay

[Bridge]
Near the wet kiss of the ocean
I still hear your call
Remembering how we'd roam
Beside the boilin foam
Like you never left at all

Been hopin for second chance
Just to set my mind to rest
But good times are a treasure
Still locked up in my chest
So I find my spirit restless
Thinking bout you everyday
Wishing you were with me
Tonight on Plymouth Bay

IF YOU HAVE TO JUDGE SOMEONE DO IT ON THE SIDE OF MERCY AND LET TIME SEASON THE RESULTS.

Eric

I especially like the bridge.  As in all of yours, the music is in the words.

Eric, you are a True troubadour!

"Near the wet kiss of the ocean
I still hear your call
Remembering how we'd roam
Beside the boilin foam"

~ I can see it, hear it, feel it ~ and remember... Thank you for bringing back some magical moments of my own.

How very beautiful... and universal... the locations may be different, but many know the yearn. *S*

I found myself humming the likes of "Galway Bay" whilst reading this, and loved it with a Celtic, folksy kind of melody.  Really a pretty song Eric.

"But good times are a treasure
Still locked up in my chest"
time to find that key, eh?

amazing, how we always enjoy a 'sad' tune
nice blues stuff

Ethome, for some reason
tonight I really heard the
salt of this song...

it is not a fast song,
more of a ballad in my ear,
and I can hear a few of the lines
strung out on heart notes...

it's good...

when are you going to come
to our area and perform, anyway?

We could use some new blood,
and some great music!
