The innocent are easy led when young and still naive
And some become the victims of belief
Sometimes little promises we should not just believe
Cos habit is the wall that hides relief

Lust and little fairytales too often led a stray
And on that path we walk too blind to see
The road that we were meant to walk was down the other way
How can a blind man find where he should be?

Regret does hide too often just between a lie and truth
Humanity and thought can’t speak the word
Gullible and innocent we are when in our youth
And only in our prayers the truth is heard

Where lies the happy medium of happy and content?
When does the truth confront what eats the soul?
I’m sure within a lifetime a second chance is sent
With time enough to seek our inner goal

Only just one lifetime for friends now dead don’t speak
To tell of heaven and the glories there
So in this now one lifetime, each one of us should seek
And find the smile that happy people share

ohhh boy, this surely gave me chills!

Hiyay Rick, Good Morning and Happy Friday...sure is always so nice to see you and read you.

This surely tells a story of our lives...and is certainly right on target...hugs for a well thought out song...of life's nature...
and how we tend to put on the blindfolds...

Well Done

nakdthoughts, thank you for your reply, it is a sorry state that we must deal with regret, but the lie and the truth are our prison at times. Good to see you here my friend, be well and take care.

Sincerely
RIck
