A Carpenter’s World I knew the way.... Through a grove of willow trees Mumbling under their breath Like sleet, felling a cold winter Makes listening, metal grey An intrusive wind burglar Stealing moments Sip by sip Tempting opinions with fidelity Have you ever felt the ambiguity? Oral doves spoke recitals Filling in the blanks Roaring like a pack of lions Tearing at the flesh of mind Like a paradox confessing Some measured truth Stacking logs next to a fireplace There, I found no limits to the imagination Walking on stilts, asking the right questions What are the conclusions to the ultimate premise? Then, the hero sinks his teeth in deep Meeting me between surreal uncertainty Sending up signals and signs Like an alleluia obsession Marking a midsummer’s dream Wandering intimately within my soul Omnipresence with colored flesh Writing letters to the furtive self Linking me to some theoretical oracle Leaving for argument’s sake A user’s manual in English Sneaky lil parent, isn’t he? A college education, couldn’t prepare you for this! And so the unanchored willow became fully human Revising powerful thoughts With a floor plan And a one way ticket to some evolutionary level Beyond human… With a common theme of design Walking through a tunnel…. |

"Sneaky lil parent, isn’t he?" LOL and yet, there are many carpenters out there each one offering different a framing idea |

Such a hard theme to write, without becoming tedious or overbearing -- or both....and every line of this poem scintillates! Excellent work here! |
