you moved my toys they were only stones but you were only a river to me and not a lover except on sunday afternoons when you touched me privately with the depth of you that cooler place down lower than your reflections I go back there now with a suit case mind but the round ones are turned and the trees say you did it when you were angry with me so I could not find any memories under my tip toes again since I am too tall now to let you hold me and you have become too shallow to drown more than my footprints __________________ dark (scribblenote: colo river and lake powell view |
