you moved my toys
they were only stones
but you were only
a river to me
and not a lover

except on sunday afternoons
when you touched me privately
with the depth of you
that cooler place
down lower than your reflections

I go back there now
with a suit case mind
but the round ones are turned
and the trees say you did it
when you were angry with me

so I could not find any memories
under my tip toes again
since I am too tall now
to let you hold me
and you have become too shallow

to drown more than my footprints

DS

Everything changes.

  "I am too tall now
to let you hold me
and you have become too shallow"

and next rain they will change again.

smiling at this...
and at the brass of your locks
on that suitcase mind.
