Cuspidate Love Hastens Seductive Lips Northern lights gild us in amethyst dreams, Hue’ our twilight’s in scintillating lace, For ours is the hush of clear flowing streams, Liquid verses of song the heart doth chase. Along the boundary of rich longing, Tout-de-suite our hearts must ever be one, To stirring hours we’ll wed belonging, Need pressed to want ere upsurges the sun. Cuspidate love hastens seductive lips, It crowds appetite to the void of night, ‘Tis the waltz of the sphere round her ellipse— —The incandescence of our sweet delight. Look to the Heavens for there falls’ a star, And the wish it brings to thee from afar. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

Thank-you Susan. Yummie! I like the sound of that word. My poetry is not half as good as yours dear friend...but I appreciate the kindness of your words. |

Thank-you Snow...I know it has to be good if I stole your words. LOL! Thank-you Midnitesun. I am really glad you liked this. I have been playing with the original idea for almost a week...and finally today decided it just had to be a sonnet. Of course having read today that the sonnet has existed in its basic accepted form for 450 years earlier this afternoon might have had a lot to do with it. LOL! I was at the book store today and bought a copy of The Oxford Book of Sonnets. Finding it to be a great read...and really enjoying following the progression of the sonnet over the past 450 years. Besides with greats such as Shakespeare, Frost, and W.B. Yeats all having wed its form to their poetry at one point or another...I think maybe it has stood the test of time...and masters. Thank-you everyone for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate it! |
