this is it
you're dancing
and singing
and i'm watching you.

what if life isn't a rehersal
and it's here
and it's now
would i regret the world
or try and get it back.

i'm not sad
i'm nostalgic
for the memories
and the moments
i haven't yet had.

i want to claim life
and tell the world it's mine
but to be private
is to be free.

and to be compassionate
is to be alone.
