Upon Foggy Frisco Upon foggy Frisco watching the jazzy rainfall Golden Gate framing you in the gallery of my heart 1999 faded softly into 2000 as night gave way to day the arc of the bay felt chilly as I beared witness to your downfall Coit Tower pressed its shadow upon us mist and rain surrounding tears taking them away on my finger and planting them in the ground the wharf was empty and barren so were you but I loved you anyway but I didn't know what that meant till you destroyed yourself and now the world is so still I can't breathe my poetry flies on the breeze taken to Alcatraz or maybe down south with the noisy seagulls obscuring the sounds of the ships in the harbor and my thoughts of you written like a memo spiked upon foggy Frisco and straight through me like a nightmare like a hundred nightmares I guess I miss you do you miss me? Once upon foggy Frisco I watched the bluesy rainfall... "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |

soul drifter The imagery in this took me back to a time when I lived in Frisco. I recall feeling some of these same feelings about love and loss too...it is a good city for that. You've made me homesick! |

I love living near there. Just a car ride away to see the beauty in what you just wrote. |

"and my thoughts of you written like a memo spiked upon foggy Frisco and straight through me like a nightmare like a hundred nightmares I guess I miss you do you miss me? Once upon foggy Frisco I watched the bluesy rainfall..." this sure hits home for me.... well done. |

Thanks. This is one of the few things I've written about a city that I've actually been to, unlike Chicago and New York. I only spent a couple days in San Francisco, just breezing through 6 years ago, but it was just enough for me to fall in love with it. Still, Colorado is and always will be my home. I do miss ol' Frisco though. That's partly why I wrote this. Thanks again... "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
