weathering heart don’t mind me, I only rain when it aches; hearts do that and I have one. if I bind a little it’s my nature now; old scars do that, and what am I if not an old scar? I’m glad I lasted long enough to scar, well enough to ache. so don’t mind me, I only rain when it aches, and hearts do that. |

Ed There is something that hearts have in common...your poem tells it well. But, don't forget the butterflies and the joy that are there also. |

True, and I'd rather have character than be one. |

Now this is way to good to be slipping down the page. Back to the top it goes! |

Best thing I've read today. Loved the twist on an old saying! This has a wealth of heart in it. Corinne |

Corrine replied that this has a wealth of heart in it. I couldn't say it any better... Be well, Ed. (Darn, I can't read your poetry without taking a station break to think upon it. Here, I'd planned to respond to quite a few, but I think I'll just stop dead in my tracks here...) sadie |

If my heart had never ached....I would think that I had not lived....or loved. Awesome write Ed. hugs, Chris "The soul that can speak through the eyes can also kiss with a gaze." |

I’m glad I lasted long enough to scar, well enough to ache. I am, too... though I would have wished you fewer scars and less aches. *S* What a wonderful twist of thought... beautiful work! |

RatLeader, What is it about blisters and scars? I remember I couldn't wait to get my first blister from crossing the monkey bars (Suppose it was a landmark, a transition between frailty and becoming more callous and brave)! I've earned the blisters and scars and glad to have encountered the challenges that brought them. Your poetry never fails to spark a thought or two or three. Come on, be real! It gets me thinking a whole lot more! Very nicely and powerfully written in a low key. The form you chose worked wonderfully to give pause and time for reflection. ~miscellanea |

The reflection you gift, is not perhaps of your realization...and yet, it exists through your words, profoundly...I've sorely missed reading you...thanks so very much for reading and commenting on my poem so kindly...welcome home, keep that pen flowing...onward, Ed, upward and onward. Hugs |
