BEACON OF LIGHT~ Linda L. Dowd ~

As storm clouds continued to gather,
The light of my days did wane.
And raindrops slid, as did my tears,
Down misted window pane.
A blanket of gray, fell over me,
~ Surrounding me in great sadness.
I’d lost all sight, of the Holy Light,
And was sinking in to madness.
Where, oh, where, had my Beacon gone?
I was bewildered and had lost my way.
I searched the hills, and many a dale,
And on bended knees, I’d pray.
I felt that God had abandoned me,
As my trials continued to mount.
I only saw the mountains ahead,
And my blessings I did not count.
But when I fell to my lowest of lows,
And was drowning in darkest hour,
A Light pierced the tumultuous skies,
And I was surged with Holy Power.
My spirits soared to heights unknown,
As God lifted off my sorrows.
He said He’d always been by my side,
And would be there for all my morrows.
He said 'twas I, who’d bid Him good-bye,
By losing faith all would be well.
In life there were many lessons to learn,
But mankind makes its own hell.
I had added the grays, to my sunny skies,
That blocked the Light from my view.
When despair set in, I opened my eyes,
And His Beacon of Light shone through.
Never again shall I doubt His Love,
Or believe that I’m all on my own.
For God continues to watch over me,
And I know I am never alone.
