Stroked A spirit stroked my mind one night To write of things I could not write To light a candle in the dark To start a fireflies embark And though I searched the waters well I could not siphon off the spell The mist that seemed to form a veil About the waters of my sail And starlight shed but little bright To lift the veil and pierce the night And darkness was my only source And there I laid my only course I struck my minds illusions flint And lit the fire of a tint And in the tint I saw the glen The why the where even the when So now I dream a life each night Beyond the laws of time and right |
