Blue wet nights for you, baby
diamonds and blossoms for you
'cause you're irresistable when you're ignoring me
so my blue canyon love is reserved for you

I write my best poetry in mornings like these
white like diamonds and blossoms for you
'cause you're incredible when you're angry at me
so my deep canyon heart is open for you

I'm the poet in your pocket
writing diamonds and blossoms for you
'cause I'm insatiable when I'm pretending to forget
that so deep is my foolish love for you

It's for you
and it's bright and real and true
it's just me
waking when the morning shines out of the blue
to watch your smile curl when you're dreaming
to long for the wonder that is you

Green bright days for you, darling
a spring of diamonds and blossoms for you
'cause you're the cause of my fondest dreams
so this love inside me shines like sunlight through dew

And it's for you
you make me crazy for you
and it's just me
falling asleep when the stars go blue
to dream of you singing Joni Mitchell to me
and I'd stare in the wonder of you

(She rights wrongs for me, sings songs to me,
wears thongs for me, and I long for her
and I can't help but smile)

Your love for me feels warm today
you shine like diamonds, you're soft like blossoms
and you're delectable when you're my blue jean baby
so my Romeo love is bubbly and fun, you're the one

Yeah, I'm drowning in your ocean
yeah, but I'm alright
and we're blowing out the candlelight
on this night

(She reads me Sylvia Plath in the bath, and I laugh
and she laughs and we laugh together
and I love her silly smile)
