As this pale honeydew hued beauty flutters about on the wispiest of veined paper-thin wings, she sips the nectar before depositing her eggs, which rest singly upon the slenderest filaments, thinner but stronger than those in fragile light bulbs; and when her larvae babes hatch out, they eat and eat and eat and eat all those tiny green pesky aphids that suck and suck and suck and suck all the essential life-giving juices from your prized flowers and vegetable gardens. Welcome Chrysopa carnea into your garden, for this fragile green lacewing does not pollute the ground water, nor does she poison other life forms. Alas, apologies go to the lowly green aphids that choose to eat the crops we humans want! May God forgive us, even when we know what we do! |

Instructive! I don't anthropomorphize much myself...oh.. wait..hmm.. I -do-. I am a bug, you see. Ah, but you are a real person... thinking, feeling, making a social statement in poetry. I'll take care to nibble only at unwanted greens and grin, thinking of you and your plans for me should I get out of hand. cheers and thanks, netaphid |
