Fire-Tenders All

This quiet soul in sweeping keep
tends the ashes of hearts in weep
Knowing it is my mission true
to do the things that I must do
To hold the tears of those in pain
until once more they can maintain
a semblance of the life they knew
before the loss made them so blue
I stir the embers with heartfelt knowing
that I have been where they now are going
Across the chasm of deepest divide
without a loved one at their side
I hold the tears of gut-wrenched surrender
I’m called on to be this souls fire-tender~
