I have traded my life for one drowning in tears of indifference, a hardness growing, a wall too difficult to climb sometimes. I can't escape myself and the years of learnings and contentment that no longer seems to fit in today's world, where needs overcome and acceptance is always one sided. My reflection divides me in two. I see happiness free flowing, pleasing to my eyes when understanding meets and the tapestry laid before is a blending of desires, a sharing of the mix of life. The other side leaves me unraveled, sometimes threadbare trying so hard to fill those dreams of another, wanting the loneliness to subside and the mixed emotions to settle into a pattern that is warm and loving and healing. Maybe I am too old for this. Maybe the inside of me is lying to this body and what feels right is a fantasy and is an illusion plaguing my mind. I am a prisoner of a lost love, just a dreamer wondering when I will be released from it all. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

Well expressed and perfectly ended...but "too old for this" I don't think so Your words display strong passion, someone will notice and ask you to share that someday. You apparently have plenty to give. A good read, even with its sad overtone... __________ice ><> |

It's nice to see that beautiful smile M! sometimes it feels like we're too old -- old flames are hard to put out -- reflection and writing are great ways the forthrightness of this peice puts it out there in a voice that everyone can understand and many hear in their own heads -- I think it's true value lies there. I can't escape myself and the years of learnings and contentment that no longer seems to fit in today's world, I think for the likes of you and I, the old ball and chain is a fact of life. We tow it along, because we gave it our all and expect no less. Maureen~ ![]() |

I agree; "this is well expressed and perfectly ended:" I love the word crafting in this and the imagery is very good too! |
