This flows marvellously, and is wonderfully complete in its scope---the emphasis on freedom and exploration, the carelessness of the meter you chose, the feminine rhymes---I am a big fan of poetry that synthesizes form and meaning, and you've done that here very nicely.

Have you ever read the short poem "The Eagle" by Tennyson? I had to think of it while I was reading yours, because you throw your eagle directly into the action, while he only describes up to the point of the Eagle's taking off into flight. You might enjoy it---
