Hangers attack and scratch me on a quiet night in my closet while I hold a violently purring twitching creature in my arms, cradling softly, as midnight beckons an eerie remembrance of the closet that swallowed focused me into another, and another until I became a dark hallway, folding around with echoes flying past the doorway. I take a step and another into the looming collectivity of this space, further seems forever as i move faster and faster until I am running through this endless stretch - until finally, out of the cold is a quiet, yet distinct "hello" so gentle I stop dead in my tracks. begin to fall so far that i wonder if this is the pit of the universe consuming me whole farther and deeper. knowing I’m not alone, still clutching the terrible vibration of a thing, I bury my face into it's fur and realize I'm no longer falling, but standing at the end of my journey, in a room. full of the smell of the same voice. hear the whisper still "hello are you listening?... pay attention, you just got a phone call" How can I stand here and not be moved by you? - Lifehouse |

This is so typical of dreams we have no control over. Great poem, enjoyed very much. |
