Upon the windy hill, the lonely house stood silently still, harsh winds begin to blow, rocking it forth, to and fro, Then came the frozen chill, darkness did it feel, the house tossed about, making rooms for doubt, suddenly boards began to crack, breaking the spineless back, moving it inside and out, parched and dry, drought, upon the window sill, the paint began to peel, all the color had faded, broken fragments, jaded, one by one, the boards fell, falling into hells well, all crumbled into a stack, house now, becomes a shack, ready to burn for firewood, an empty hole, is now, where it stood, one last flame burns, the only warmth to feel, no longer stands, the house upon windy hill.... We attract hearts by the qualities we display, we retain them by the qualities we possess.~Jean Baptiste Antoine Suard |

I like this...reminds me of the house the fire department burnt down here a couple years ago. Now it is just a big empty lot! Borders the back of my house. One day I might buy it and turn it into a forest. That would be good I think. |

Thanks for all of your replys..the house is representation of a relationship or a marriage that has failed....because relationships are built upon foundations of trust. With every year there s a new room added, to open the doors to explore more about eachother, to grow and to learn from one another. The flames are of passionate love..or passionate anger..fighting..until the house no longer stands..and the warmth of love is no longer felt.(Rooms for doubt..was intended) This was my inspiration and my thoughts while writing it...thanks! Love and hugs~ARH We attract hearts by the qualities we display, we retain them by the qualities we possess.~Jean Baptiste Antoine Suard |

Such a good analogy, ARH. Such a sad poem. I hope a new house, a good strong brick one, is built in its place. ...jo |

Metaphorically intriguing as well as narratively speaking! Ooo! It shivered me timbers! A great write on both levels! EA |
