Time’s mocking hand shall mercilessly send Its merry tune; another round shall sweep To show where we start, where we end — For my flesh and my bone Thou may keep. But though Thou taketh - I take from Thee And upon Thy face I shall carve my name — For where Man and a Woman love decree, Upon that creed Thou shall have no claim. And I shall not yield to Thy twisted blade; Thy hand shall not till the soil — for Thy gain — Of my heart and my soul — and so we trade; For the heart and the soul immortal shall reign: Thus Thou shall not claim, what shall my remain, Claim to Thy own — the deed to their domain.
