Slender, the stem of thorned remember, lying silent upon the weathered hand. amongst the crushed petals of then. A mist lying calm upon the cool sod of earth’s ash. She arose when dreams awoke the slumber of a wandering soul, as clenches pressed firmly the fluff, appearing but a blink before the cornerstones swallowed her glancing eyes and the haunt of her smile laughed at him. Sudden stark sweat stole morning’s gasp as panic beads drenched the bed sheet and a gust galloped through the open window, chasing the shadow beneath the door... into the black of a cat’s eye. And in the shimmer of that ocular orb, he saw her...turning slowly away, walking into the abyss of a memory, desperate to become a dream....if but only once.... Just once...once more. |
