"Studies Show Poets Die Early" A health update screamed at me Would this be reason for alarm My piptalk friends, let's see. Poets live on passion,it read They thrive, even in pain They romanticize death and despair, and disdain Poets are at risk for heart attack: They rarely move around They drink wine in their gardens And long for things that can never be found Of course, I'll add (this is sad to say) Some poets even take their own life away So scientists and doctors all agree: Most poets do not live to be sixty three As a young poet,I do declare It matters not if I'll ever grow silver hair I live each moment in rhythm and rhyme I dont care if it would eat up my time. Poets die early? That's pure baloney! When poets write, they live forever Don't you just agree? |

This one feels as if he may....in Passions, at least. It may be that Jamie has posted his last poem. I'm that disheartened. Sometimes I wonder if this was ever a place where I should have put my work. On the other hand, I may post twenty poems in the next week -- let's see what happens. |

Poets are at risk for heart attack: They rarely move around They drink wine in their gardens And long for things that can never be found My heart is good.... I am always on the move.. I don't drink... I only long for things I can see...and then..the longing tis but brief. We poets love life I do believe. Well written piece to ponder. Enjoyed. hugs, Chris |

Jasmine~ Oh my, what a thinker you are~ I smiled my way through some of the thoughts and thought my way through some of the smiles~ Early ? ... I'm hanging in for at least midnight !! Or ... is that sitting the fence of 'early' ? ... okay, make it midnight-o-eight~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Hmm, guess I'd better get busy writing more, so my family can publish my colossal poetic brilliance after I'm gone. Great poem. Brought a smile to my face. |

I have to say to the statistics I disagree. Atleast thats the way it feels to me. Poets live in the verse and prose. Like everyone here at Passions surely knows. They live forever in the poems they write. Sharing the warmth from their hearts each night. Loved the write! |

Interesting...I have noticed that there were times I was writing when I should have visited the health club or just took a walk...but when I take a walk I find myself writing...James |

thank you very much for the interesting replies...i read this article from a local health magazine but the study was conducted in the United States...well,i don't think survey results could hold true for everyone...it really made me think, though. |
