The will to believe |

From ash can arise a beautiful fire when belief is the only element left to stir and awaken inbred ignorance to the storehouse of mind’s unlimited power. Yet still I am cold at this wayside alone, my will to believe like an aged old dream bent over and shuffling ever slowly, so slow, back into the safety of my memory. Call now I do, “Hurry up! Can’t you hear?” And the wind blows - even ash goes away when impatience becomes the ruler of soul and weakness the norm each and every day. Ah, but a crutch; how love holds me up and steadies my walk when I don’t forget but I do, like you, rush out unprepared into the fray of short-lived happiness. Time comes and it goes and sometimes I know flames flicker and dance in sweet attendance but there in the middle of humble offerings lies the plea for release and the freedom to be a roaring and consuming everlasting fire. There’s a corner somewhere waiting to be turned and the sound of a shuffle ever slowly, so slow, but no one can hurry the progress of growth when the will to believe is bent at the knees!
