My soul shall rise and fall like the tides underneath and within the hot orb that warms my soles as I stroll the beaches of today knowing tomorrow the tides will be higher the days warmer for thermal inertia is not fantasy, global warming is a reality; even a half degree fahrenheit rise in your lifetime equals three inches increase in global sea level, and that does not even include the runoff from glacial meltdown. Once-massive glaciers are melting like last year's party icecubes, and all that you see along the waters edge shall someday be underneath in your grandchildren's lifetime. Only a matter of degrees to some humans, though it will no doubt be a life-changing/ending event for many species. So enjoy the tidal estuary teeming with vibrant crawling, clinging, diving life, the magnificent but fragile eco-system while it still exists. Write about it, photograph it, dream about it. For it shall disappear some day perhaps sooner than any Gods intended. |

I knew when I read the title that this would be thought provoking! I like the way you delve into important issues with your pen. I think you do this creatively! Now, every time my ice cubes begin to melt, I'll think of your poem and its meaning. sincerely, miscellanea |

Misce, thank you so much for reading, and for your your very thoughtful reply. This is a subject many people prefer to ignore. |
