I felt promise in the words,
A deep, underlying      truth.
Of course, time stands still
For no man,
Tis only our own feet
That we drag
Trying to make time
        Move slower;
And yes, each battle lost
Makes us strong enough
To face whatever      come what may.
It is our own weaknesses
That leaves us, vulnerable
To the lessons         of life.
Through this, we find growth
Until we become
One day,     wiser.
