Nothing is Free, except the gentle breeze whispering in yonder canyon’s trees, the soft salty kiss of love that floats upon an ocean breeze, a warbler’s fine tune in yonder dale, green swaying grasses waving at me from within a misty morning veil, the spirit of the chickadee, the song of the sparrow, the baby blue sky I see, a walk in the woods on a cool night, a lover’s embrace shared 'neath bending willow tree. Nothing is free, except the accidental touch of two lovers knees as they sit arm-in-arm entwined, like branches under closely planted trees, in the full bloom of a June moon. No, nothing is free except what money cannot buy. But what price would I pay, if I had to today? I cannot honestly say, since all I want seems to be free. |
