The way he said it
sounded good
as shadows on the wall were mime
I thought that it had been rehearsed
perhaps he might have taken time
practicing his stance in glimpse
of a mirror angling
pondering the eyebrow lift--
just that one--as Eastwood did -
squinting his blue-eyed defense
the sun burnt amber ambience
capturing that cold lone eye
playing to the audience--
whistling the tune of boots
begging for the Hyde of horse
leaving me in corset strings
tangled in remorse and sheets
wet with his amused regret
that he'd given me that much,
as though I were a charity--
shrugging off another slut--
tossing silver on my bed--
"a furiousity," I said
to an empty room of gone...

laughing

with my legs in spread
the shadows on the wall were mine
"watch me I am butterfly"
as I toss the coin to heads
in multiples of loss,
I said:
"The way he said it
sounded good."

You never fail to amaze,
and you never lack
for honesty...

Gotta love a gal like that!

You write as the granite face of the ancient cliffs...
Surviving brutality, with an ageless timeless and tender face.

I love your unique style Karen.

it is just stunning the way
you can combine artistry
with honesty

it is achieving something
to be able to do ONE of those things

to be a remarkable poet
              you can use words
                well and clever
to be a remarkable person
                you can be honest
               as yourself
                 to anyone

but you baby

put it all together

unabashed naked
with mastery of medium
and some universality
mixed in

there is no bias when I say...
go get published now

I second Bri here K . . .
you take the simplest anything
and turn it into the most everything.
