A small cocoon of cotton that covered all but the smallest dark eyes and rose colored cheeks. Only minutes ago, they stared deep into my heart, capturing the love that I had. Causing a tear to well in eyes, a lump to grow before my throat cleared, making you move slightly. How could you dream within the warmth of arms that you have never felt? Lying peacefully in a manly cradle of clumsiness. A place which whispered a lullaby, hummed softly into a tiny ear, touched the smallest finger and felt the clutch of a tiny hand, pleading me to never pull away. And now, years later, those eyes still look up at me each night, as stars bring the heavens in through your window. And I softly shudder, remembering the first time you slept as I held, so safe in the arms of a father...learning how to love again. |

Barry - so sweet - loving - touching - tender - sigh - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
