In slide of hand chilled soul seeks a pocket inside, protection from frozen arctic winds that threaten to chill the inner core as temperature drops, and the AM news does nothing to lift the inner being upwards into the comfort zone; yet he cups my heart, feathering the coldness as in a down caress, bringing warm blushes back to lips of cold steel, offers a kiss to feel alive and real; but as the frigid clock ticks itself off in a moment of fear, the day suddenly rushes in, an arctic wind blasting itself boldly and the inner core temperature drops seemingly below any allowable recovery point until once again slide of hand reaches in and gifts the touch of warm. * BTW, it was only 29F here this morning. I thought for a moment I was back in Alaska, until I remembered it's only 3F in my former neighborhood this morning. |
