Electric words suck prayers each night from frayed darkness. our needs on calloused knees forgiven by those frostbitten appeals left alone too long, the wrong word is spoken, faith taken as a token of this waifen survival, in chrome messages, mirrors broken by the threadbare dreams of pebbles piled on the tongue, pumice seams of cracked syntax, he loves me at a distance, instant words become papery, electric fuzz, way back in the mind to showboat, to gloat as muzzled tigers leap into sunflowers and dissipate in a hiss of frayed wires, only to be remade by the fires that wake oblivion. 2004 copyright babygirLPress ::a bit of petulance, I will ask your forbearance, as this afternoon finds me pacing my cage:: P E A C E and O N E **Intoxicant to the SouL** |
